Dear Carol, Barry and family,
Our deepest sympathy for the passing of Geoff. What a loss for you all.
We didn’t have a great amount of time with Geoff, but it was clear that he was such a genuine, kind, friendly and talented man, with a great sense of humour and a passion for the Cats!.
Someone who would do anything for anyone. A person that made you happy in his presence, and someone you would be grateful to have in your life. One of life’s true gentlemen.
He is a big loss to you all.
Wishing you all strength, peace and smiles when you remember him.
Lots of love,
Janai, Chris, Teriann and Tahli Dawson.

Our condolences to Carol and your family. We will all miss Geoff and in our case he managed to match Kaye and myself in your wedding (bestman and first bridesmaid). We all have fond memories and mine with Geoff go back 64 years.
I first met Geoff at Tarranyurk Primary School and in those seemingly endless years we spent countless hours enjoying the school playground, concerts, picnics, swimming in the Wimmera river near the Tarranyurk bridge and bike riding.
I remember Geoff missing a period of primary school due to illness and spending that time at home learning music. I remember his 10th birthday party at the farm and being shown how to use Peters welder. I have this incident to mark my later start in manufacturing.
Geoff and I later went to Dimboola Memorial High School. Sitting together on the school bus for 2 hours each day (an hour each way) and reading an endless supply of Geoff’s comics. Although we were separated in our school classes we spent endless hours together at recess time.
After a few short years Geoff left for Horsham Tech School and I went to Adelaide for further schooling.
After marrying our respective partners we cherished our times visiting Geoff and Carol at Bacchus Marsh, Launching Place, and Melton.
Along the way Kaye and I asked Geoff to be godparents for our twins and we were asked to be Mathew’s godparents
Unfortunately in later years we were not to catch up that often but when we did it was like the conversation had no interruption. I will miss Geoffs’ laugh and quirky humour he was a true friend and will always be sadly missed. Once again our condolences go out to Carol and all in your family

It’s hard to believe you are gone Geoff. What a talented and a loyal man you were. A great family man who will be missed by many. May you now rest in peace. 🌷
