If I could write a story, It would be the most epic Aussie adventure ever told, I’d write about the virtues, The lessons in right from wrong About our family values How to be strong. The things in life we can not change, To face our fears head on To carry ourselves with pride, Hold our heads up high To never run and hide To our dad, that will be missed, Never again will you be kissed, By wife, daughters and sons, Family, friends Just about anyone. He was our hero Mentor, our reason and right He always told us There are better ways Than to fight. By the smoke and the smell You can clearly tell, That it’s dads favourite time again When the steaks are burning to a crisp, The snags are well and truly done, And lunch is gonna be a surprise We will all just sit back and wait, For that world famous bonfire ballad “When smoke gets in your eyes La, de, da, de, da”! So, when you find yourself reflecting, As so many of us do, Please come and find us, And share your stories, At the world’s greatest, most epic Aussie BBQ. If I could write a story, It would be the most epic Aussie adventure ever told Because it would be about our dad….. For he had the biggest heart of gold. ❤️
