I worked with Brian from 1975 up to 1993. Since then we have been good mates. I will miss him greatly. We talked every other week. We covered everything from our personal medical issues to technical issues on anything, especially our aged motor vehicles – his and mine. He was a genius on electronic and electrical issues. He always had valuable suggestions and often would have or make a special tool for me. We were a valuable resource to each other. I would make any mechanical parts he required and he would provide parts, know-how and labour for anything electrical or electronic. I definitely had the best part of the deal. When any electrical item of mine stopped working, Brian would say, “drop it in and I’ll have a look.” The next day it would appear on my front door-step working perfectly. And I know that he did this for lots of people. What are we all going to do? Brian has gone and left us much too early. When someone like Brian goes, it’s like losing an encyclopedia as well as a good mate.
